Chewing gum apply hot water to remove chewing gum from carpets and upholstery. Smaller objects should be placed into the freezer, then the gum can be easily pulled off.

Coffee and Tea stains - rub them with bicarbonate of soda and a damp cloth.

Fresh blood stains remove by covering it with salt, then dab with a cold water cloth. Continue to add until the stain is gone.

Ink stains remove by rubbing the stain with salt, soak in milk over night and then wash.

Wine stains from cotton fabrics - sprinkle enough salt on the stain to absorb the wine, soak the clothing in cold water for 2 hours and then wash.
